Latest news

Alhambra

The BIG news is, of course, that Limelight has been invited to be the first amateur company to perform in the newly refurbished Alhambra theatre in Dunfermline. This is an exciting local venture and we are very proud to be making history as the first musical to be performed in the theatre since 1926.

The theatre seats will be curtained off to seat 700 so this is also an opportunity to sell more tickets.

Limelight Charity for 2009

Every year the committee has long discussions on which charity to support for each show. This year the decision was extremely easy - only one charity was in our hearts as we wanted to honour our dear friend Mary Leishman. Our charity for 2009 is therefore the Mary Leishman Foundation. Mary was a leading figure in the world of amateur musical theatre and will be sorely missed by everyone involved.

The Mary Leishman Foundation, set up by husband Jim Leishman, will see its funds split between local cancer related causes.

Wardrobe Requirements for Wizard of Oz

Parents, children will need to supply the following items:

  • Their own black pumps – please note that these will be decorated so will definately not come back in pristine condition!
  • Stripy long socks or tights but NOT green stripes (Only the Wicked Witch will wear green stripy socks).

Adult ladies:

  • Do you have a full skirt? The hem will be boned so the skirt sticks out for Munchkinland.
