Company Profiles, LSOH
I have been involved in amateur dramatics since the age of 11. Starting in shows such as Wizard of Oz, Carousel, The Young Ones, and Little Shop of Horrors with Edinburgh Acting School, and Carnegie Youth Theatre. I’m thrilled to be doing this show a second time round with such talented people.
Born into a non-musical family, Darren always knew he would be different. Combining his studies in dance at Adam Smith College, in addition to Limelight’s debut production, Darren is participating in “Fame the Musical” with CYT and “Thoroughly Modern Millie” with LADAMA. With such a fantastic production team as their first, Darren has no doubt the Limelight will continue to grow…. Just not into a man-eating plant!
After a break of about 6 years, I decided to get back on the stage. Previously with Fife Youth Theatre, Carnegie Youth Theatre, Lochgelly Amateur and KAOS, I wanted to join a company who offered something new. This has been hard work, but it was great to see old faces from past and meet new ones.
Glen has been a member of Markinch Opera for 12 years and has also had roles with Kirkcaldy, Glenrothes, and Fife Opera. He sings with a local group – Ensemble, and still finds some time to work as a Press Officer. Despite being a “grouch” on stage, he loves being with Limelight.
Hi, Half a Sixpence was my first ever show in this theatre with CYT a long time ago! I’ve been a member with KAOS for a lot of years now and my favourite show so far has been Cabaret. I always enjoy a challenge and I have to say Little Shop is one! Good Luck for the future Limelight!
Kim is 16 years old and currently lives in Crossford. She is in 5th year at Queen Anne High School. She started dancing with local “Don’t Stop Movin’” dance group at the age of eleven and now assists as a dance teacher with the younger classes there. She has been involved musical theatre since the age of eleven starring as Mrs Bedwin in a production of Oliver! Last year Kim starred in Kingdom Musical Theatre Company’s production of “Scrooge”. She used to attend Musical Theatre and Disco Dancing classes at the Starlet Dance Studio. She played a T-Bird in a small production of Grease with the Dance Studio.
Playing “Audrey” in Limelight’s first production of “Little Shop of Horrors” is Kim’s first principal role and she is thrilled to have such a major role in the show.
She enjoys the rehearsals with the company very much and thinks they are a great group of talented people!
She would like to wish the company the best of luck and is looking forward to being a member of ‘Limelight Productions’ for many years to come.
Suzanne’s theatre career has now come full circle as she returns to the Carnegie Hall after performances in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy. She’s come a long way since her ballet performance some 23 years ago and tonight she is thrilled to be playing the part of Chiffon. She is also over the moon to be in pink for a large part of the show!
Doogies’ theatre attributes include: 7 Brides for & Brothers, (CYT,Carnegie Hall), West Side Story, (Bohemians, Kings Theatre, Edinburgh), Honk, (CYT, Carnegie Hall), Summer Holiday, (CYT, Carnegie Hall). Doogie studied at the Centre for Professional Dance Training, Edinburgh. He hopes you enjoy not seeing him as “The Plant” tonight.
Although this is not Lisa’s first principal role having played the saintly Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls (LADAMA), and the wise old comedy role of Gladys in Copacabana (LADAMA) she feels she has finally found a role that personifies her true character in this a teenage, sarcastic yet diva-esc role.
